Footage was recorded at the scene of the shooting by a resident. Several armed police officers stood in front of Hyman’s house during the operation, with one seemingly entering the home after a woman was seen exiting in the video.

The woman who recorded the footage from what appears to be her home can be heard pleading with Hyman to come out of his house. Seemingly speaking to one of the officers, the woman then tells a man to make Hyman come out of the house, which prompts him to ask, “Fi Wah?”

A few moments after this exchange, gunshots are heard, and the video cuts to the officers removing Hyman’s body wrapped in a sheet. The woman in the recording also accused the officers of planting a gun at the scene of the shooting.

Following her son’s death, Shanna Johnson described her son as a hard-working young man while speaking with the Jamaica Observer. Johnson accused the police of visiting Hyman’s home last week and threatening his girlfriend.

“Dem come here last week Tuesday, search him, guh up a him yard, threaten him girlfriend seh fi guh home caw it nah guh pretty,” Johnson said.
