Jamaica Moves One-Up in Fifa World Rankings

The Reggae Boyz are getting stronger and stronger again based on recent movements in the world Fifa Rankings.

The Boyz last played international football against Saudi Arabia in November in a two-match series whereby they lose the first match but bounced back to win the second match.

The Reggae Boyz, coached by Theodore Whitmore now ranks at 47th position in the world Fifa Rankings which was updated just days ago showing an improvement on their 48th average spot since 2019.

In 1998 The Reggae Boyz went to the World Cup in Japan but is yet to return to the world cup since and many supporters are optimistic about the current squad which is made up mostly of international players.

Jamaica’s top player at the moment is Leon Bailey who plays in the German Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen who is currently 3rd in the league table.

Over the years Jamaica reached 3 CONCACAF Gold Cup Finals, however, has never won the tournament.

The Island’s best rank in the world was 38 (9 February 1998), Lowest was 126 (29 April 1984).
