A man by the name of Rogan Murray who was taken into custody by the authorities for a robbery committed in St. Andrew, faced a unique situation when he was brought to the feet of a Policewoman he was accused of robbing with a knife in Downtown Kingston.
The reports are that the Policewoman was in the vicinity of Downtown Kingston, going about some business on August 25th, when she sensed a hand holding her right arm.
It was said that the accused man then told the female cop not to move twice before he allegedly pointed a knife at her chest. It was said that the man who carried out the robbery did not have on a mask, and seemingly would not know that the woman is a Police Officer since she was in plain clothing.
A tussle reportedly ensued with the woman and Murray accused of being the robber, which saw the man using his left hand to twist the cop’s right arm, which caused the bracelet she was wearing to break loose leading to him taking off with it.
Even though the cop is said to have pulled her firearm, the thief was long gone with her accessory.
The Policewoman was able to point out Murray, when he was arrested on November 13, after being pointed out by a woman for stealing a woman’s gold chain in Half-Way Tree.
He was picked up by officers working on traffic duty along North Odeon Avenue after they were notified by persons that two suspected thieves were travelling on a Coaster Bus.
Rohan Murray, the accused man, even though pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery with aggravation concerning the Policewoman, has a conviction from 2019 for simple larceny and is currently locked up for larceny, murder and shooting with intent and will be remanded according to Parish Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague until February 17, 2022.
