Planning to do some shopping for the holiday season or maybe need extra funds to prepare a feast for the family? Prime Minister Andrew Holness provided a solution to this, where persons can reap monetary rewards for the upcoming Christmas season in exchange for reporting illegal guns.
In an attempt to rid the country of illegal firearms, PM Holness is reminding citizens that they can have a ‘Merry Christmas‘ by getting paid for being a part of the fight against criminality in the country.
“Need some extra cash? You can mek a money fi d Christmas! Remember every illegal gun has a price. Call Crime Stop 3-1-1 to report illegal guns,” the social media post by the Prime Minister says.
Earlier this year, the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) embarked on the “Operation Get Every Illegal Gun” crime-fighting campaign where a multi-million-dollar fund was put in place to increase the reward for information leading to the recovery of illegal firearms, as well as rewards for information provided that leads to the arrest of persons involved with or in possession of the illegal guns.
