American singer Rielle and Jamaican music producer Birchill linked up to present a groovy song dedicated to Jamaica. Rielle who sings on the track invites listeners to ‘Sail Away‘ with her in her first release for 2025.
Sail Away is the 24-year-old’s second official release, and the young artiste is already garnering attention from industry players like Busta Rhymes and Gyptian. Rielle, born Gabrielle Santo, is signed to indie boutique label Natural Bridge and has been slowly carving out a space for herself in the industry.
Notably, Sail Away has been getting significant traction along the U.S. Eastern Seaboard. Sail Away was shot in Jamaica, with Rielle basking in the best sights the island’s pristine seaside and rivers can offer.
A fresh take on Dancehall, Reggae, and Pop, the single embodies the serene, easy-going vibes of Caribbean life while doubling as a love song to both the tropics and the special people in the singer’s life.
“Take me back to the island of Jamaica, where the ocean is so deep and blue, and I can tell by when I look at you that we’ll be fine. White sand with some pink. Feeling so could a can’t think. Raise a glass full of that drink,” Rielle sings in her opening verse.
Jamaica’s musical influence on the artiste exemplifies its continued impact internationally. Music executive Mark Pinnock, who has been guiding the young artiste in her new career in the industry, is featured in the song’s music video.
Pinnock describes her as a “dynamic talent with a unique sound that bridges cultures,” and he’s not the only one who sees the potential in the singer. Jamaican producer Christopher Birch, who is also featured in Sail Away‘s music video, chose Rielle for his latest project.
Birch’s career spans decades, and the producer is no stranger to creating memorable hits with artistes, such as Bruk Off Yuh Back by Konshens. While many artistes quickly find themselves thrown into one genre, Birch does not view her as a singer that can be put in a creative box.
He also described Rielle as a talent to be reckoned with.
“She’s a breath of fresh air, an amazing writer, singer, and voice. She has good energy, good spirit, and she’s going to be a major player in this business as long as she puts her energy and focus into what she’s doing,” Birch said.
