Dancehall artiste Shawn Campbell, more popularly known as Shawn Storm, appears to be confident in his forthcoming appeal as he makes mention of freedom in the caption of a newly uploaded video.
Shawn Storm rose to prominence as a member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire in the early 2000s with hit tracks such as My Life.
But the deejay and his mentor, Vybz Kartel, were later charged and convicted for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
Despite his conviction, Shawn Storm has maintained his innocence over the years.
In a video seemingly taken from prison and shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Shawn Storm seemed to be in good spirits, with a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other.
Captioning the video, Shawn Storm proclaimed “ROAD.”
The deejay and his co-defendants, Kartel, Kahira Jones, and Andre St. John, are scheduled to appeal their murder convictions next week in Jamaica’s final appellate court, the United Kingdom Privy Council, between February 14 and 15.
