In November 2021, she announced that four projects she worked on received Grammy nomination nods. These projects include Major Lazor’s Music Is The Weapon in the Best Dance/ Electronic Music category, Kanye West’s Donda in the Album of the Year and Best Rap Album categories, and Masego’s Studying Abroad: Extended Stay for Best Progressive R&B Album. She, however, was only nominated for Donda.

The month of December 2021 saw her celebrating a year of hard work, and to commemorate this, she posted pictures wearing all green in recognition of her labour. In her words, she captioned the photo, “Me Hustle Hard like ghetto yutes downtown 🍃.” Shenseea restated that she is the definition of beautiful but at the same time, dedicated and successful.

In January of 2022, the Shengyeng Boss created quite a stir that escalated into controversy in the media when she teased fans with the cover and music video for Lick, a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. The provocative lyrics that venerate the act of oral sex on women once again sent tongues wagging and fingers flying over their keyboards. Nonetheless, the single was featured on her debut album, Alpha.

February was another month for raunchy photos for Shenseea, and a picture of her surrounded by men had social media in a frenzy once more. In the photo, the entertainer was being admired by four male models, one of which was sucking on her toes. The photo op was done as a teaser for R U That single featuring 21 Savage.

Shenseea finally released her album titled Alpha on Friday, March 11, 2022, which could be labelled as her most career-defining moment. The album became fruitful through the efforts of Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records and it debuted at number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

In recognition of the album, she had two release parties to commemorate the milestone. One was held in the United States while the other was held in Jamaica.

In April, Shenseea was awarded a plaque that signified her certification of Gold in Canada. She was proud and gracious of this particular moment because she had to previously postponed some of her scheduled performances in Canada because of issues with her voice at that time.

When May came around, she posted pictures of herself and her son in commute to the Billboard Music Awards. Her son, Rajeiro Lee, only six years old was dressed in Dolce & Gabbana garments while Shenseea was enrobed in a Di Petsa dress. The singer later changed clothes to get ready for her Glass Animals presentation for the historic first-time Pepsi Mic Drop moment.

Prior to her European tour in June, the Foreplay artiste posted saucy pictures of herself in a one-piece bikini, fishnet stockings, a shoulder strap garter belt, and boots. The entire outfit was accented in gold.

The Shengyeng Anthem singer commanded attention at the Wireless Festival in July in what seemed to be custom-made apparel with the artiste’s logo emblazoned across her breasts.

In August, she was nominated for Push Performance Of The Year at the Video Music Awards (VMA) for her performance on the MTV Push platform for her single, R U That. Although the entertainer did not win in the category, she was grateful for the opportunity and grabbed the attention of many in clothing designed by Marc Jacobs.

Last month, Sunday, September 25, Shenseea did a live performance at the Rock the Runway: SHEIN for all fashion show.
