Riverton and Retirement Dumps to be guarded by Police and Soldiers

The Government Minister Desmond McKenzie has announced that Police and Soldiers will be deployed at the dumps as more is being done to prevent the fires that ravaged them recently.

The Minister also said drones will be used to enhance security. There has been reports about a plan to start more fires at the dumps again, so the Minister has said the Prime Minister Andrew Holness is planning to ask .he leader of the opposition to assist with a public education campaign to help Jamaicans to be more aware of the damage that is done to their health and the economy when these fires are lit.
A total of 11 fires have been lit on dumps all across Jamaica in over 1 month and the cost has been huge. Everything has to be done to stop this terrible practice.
