Shabdon Granted Bail

Days ago, the lawyer representing popular dancehall producer Linval Thompson Jr. whose more commonly known as “Shabdon” insisted that his client did not attempt to bribe a lawman and vowed to fight the Corruption Prevention Act charge that was laid on his client, labelling it as “Odd”. The Montego Bay producer was granted bail when he appeared in the St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, November 17th.
Shabdon was offered bail amounting to $450,000 and must abide by the conditions connected to his bail. His next court date is scheduled for January 20, 2022. The Corruption Prevention Act, speaks to “offers to a public servant any money, articles or gifts for them to commit any act or omission”.
According to the police, moments after being granted bail on an illegal firearm charge in the Gun Court, Shabdon offered over one million JMD to make the gun that he was charged for disappear.
Shabdon is being represented by attorney Donahue Martin who is yet to comment on the gun charges, stating that it’s not professional to talk on such ongoing charges and while some lawyers do so, he won’t because the judges don’t like that.
Shabdon and his co-accused were first arrested on October 24th, the two men were reportedly travelling in a vehicle in Old Harbour, St. Catherine that was searched and the weapon found. With regards to the gun in question, the JCF claims that it was stolen from a United States Police Department located in Atlanta back in 2018.
The popular producer who is associated with the 6ix camp is well known for his works with dancehall entertainers such as Vybz Kartel, Squash, Chronic Law and Teejay and many others.
