Reports state that Tropical Storm Bret is continuously moving westward with Tuesday morning updates stating that the storm was located 1,130 miles east of the Southern Windward Islands at a speed of 17 mph, with 40 mph sustained winds.

According to the National Hurricane Center, “Both the atmospheric and oceanic environment look conducive for strengthening during the next couple of days with low shear and abnormally warm ocean waters. Therefore, the forecast continues to call for Bret to become a hurricane in a couple of days.” However, it was also mentioned that due to the unpredictability of the “track forecast,” it is too early to tell when, where, and to what extent “these hazards could occur.”

A Tracking The Tropics forecast stated that Bret is followed by a Tropical Wave Invest 93-L which is more likely to develop than Bret. It was mentioned that as Bret moves westward it is expected to turn into a tropical 1 hurricane by Thursday morning, entering the Caribbean Sea by the weekend.

As for Tropical Wave Invest 93-L, which has a 70% chance of development, it was stated that it could become a Tropical Depression by the time the week is out.
