Fraudster Uses AI to Clone Girl’s Voice and Demands USD $1 Million Ransom From Her Mother – Watch Video Report
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to advance, one Arizona woman has reported that an alleged scammer used AI to clone her daughter’s voice to fake her kidnapping.
According to Jennifer DeStefano, a resident of Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, her 15-year-old daughter was out of town on a ski trip when she received a call from an unknown number. DeStefano could reportedly hear her daughter crying on the call, and then she told her, “Mom, I messed up.”
DeStefano told local news station Arizona Family that a man on the line told her daughter to put her head back and lie down, then claimed to have kidnapped her. The alleged scammer demanded a $1 million ransom, but after DeStefano told him she did not have that much, he lowered it to $50,000.

The man told DeStefano that he would pick her up with the cash, warning her that he would kill her and her daughter if she did not have it. DeStefano said she had no doubts that the voice on the call was her daughter, but a fellow mom called her husband, who informed them that the teen was safe.
