Large Fire Destroys Musgrave Market, Furniture Store and Supermarket in Port Antonio

A fire reportedly broke out around 8 a.m. this morning behind Musgrave Market in Port Antonio and quickly engulfed Portland Jewellers, a nearby furniture and appliance store.
In addition, Kamal’s Supermarket & Cambio, an adjoining building, was also consumed by the flames, and contents, including a range of items, cold storage equipment, cash machines, and an unknown amount of cash, were destroyed.
A number of vendor stalls were damaged, and Musgrave Market’s meat department also sustained considerable damage.
Three fire units responded to the fire, and objects like stoves, speaker boxes, and wooden furniture were taken out of Portland Jewellers. No one was said to have been hurt, according to the reports.
