Leon Bailey, who was substituted onto the field, late in the game after recently recovering from a slight knock, made it count as he picked up the ball inside West Ham’s penalty area; he left a defender bamboozled before finishing in the top corner to score his third goal for Villa in the English Premier League this season.

Aston Villa, as usual, raced into a first-half lead through Douglas Luiz on the half-hour mark. Luiz was again on target in minute 51 as he calmly put away a penalty.

Inform striker Ollie Watkins seemingly made the points secured in the 74th minute by rifling a shot to beat the West Ham goalkeeper at his near post after West Ham got a goal back in the 56th-minute courtesy of Bowen.

Leon Bailey then wrapped up the win late in the 89th minute after he was substituted in the game 13 minutes early by Emery. Bailey repaid his coach’s faith in him with interest by making it 4-1 to make it 11 consecutive home win for Aston Villa.
