Oblique Seville Sets Meet Record to Win Men’s 100m at 2024 Racers Grand Prix in Kingston

Saturday night in Kingston was abuzz as the 2024 staging of the Racers Grand Prix entertained patrons with some impressive races inside the National Stadium. The 100m women and 100m men were the highlights of the day.
American sprinter Noah Lyles and Jamaica’s Oblique Seville were the matchup of the night, however, Jamaica’s Oblique Seville was victorious running a world-leading, meet-record and personal-best time of 9.82s. Noah Lyles finished second with a season-best of 9.85s.

Notably, Lylesβ PB in the 100m is 9.83 seconds, in a recent interview he stated that he will be looking to break the 100m record at Jamaica’s National Stadium.
At the moment, Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake holds the record for the fastest time run at the National Stadium with a time of 9.75 seconds which was clocked at the National Championships in 2012.
Since 2016, The Racers Grand Prix has showcased the best of both Jamaican and international rising and renowned athletes.
