On Wednesday, three persons were brutally murdered at their home by gunmen at approximately 7:30 p.m. in Irwin Heights, Montego Bay. The victims are 11-year-old Peter Gaye Cooke and her 19-year-old twin brothers Jevaughn and Jevaughnie Stewart.
A baby was also at the home but was not harmed.
Sources have indicated that the brothers were killed by men in the community because of an argument and that the 11-year-old was not the intended target, however, was unfortunately caught in the crossfire.
Before this incident, there was reportedly another hit on the twin brothers.
A senior officer from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) told The Gleaner that “Based on our investigation, the brothers were recently attacked at gunpoint by a group of men from the area, and a report was made to the police”. The police reportedly have two men in custody for this assault.
This gruesome murder of the three siblings in the Irwin Heights community happened just a few hours after another man named Andre Fullerton was shot and killed by gunmen in Orange, a neighbouring community.
Investigations are ongoing on the murders by the police.
