The Reggae Boyz almost suffered a historical loss to Caribbean opposition Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Friday night in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines went ahead in the 64th minute, scoring against Blake in goal, after a well excited counter attacking play. The Reggae Boyz came close to equalizing on several occasions, but was unable to do so until 6 minutes into extra time.
After a penalty was awarded to Jamaica, Leon Bailey stepped up and converted from the penalty spot, the match finished about a minute after the penalty was taken, resulting in the match ending 1-1.
Jamaica now has a crucial away goal going into the second leg, which will play on Tuesday at Sabina Park in Kingston.
