The surveillance footage shows the driver releasing water from the truck onto the ground near a house shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. The driver quickly leaves the scene before the video ends.

According to the information accompanying the footage, Chester District has been experiencing a lack of water for five weeks. When the water truck arrived in the community on Sunday, the driver reportedly charged the residents a fee to obtain the water.

Afterwards, the driver allegedly emptied the unsold water along the roadside while leaving the community.

The information was shared on X by a concerned resident aiming to draw attention to the issue.

“This is Chester Dist in St Ann. @matthewsamuda, @Cliffnationwide, @AndrewHolnessJM, @NWCjam, @KrystalLeeCares. No water for 5 wks now and water was sent there and the truck man sold the water AMD what did not sold he let out the water starting at my gate.I am a paid NWC members,” she wrote.

The resident also shared that she has to pay her water bill every month despite not getting water and pleaded to Prime Minister Andrew Holness to conduct an audit in the St Ann’s Bay NWC office, saying, “I think the Supervisor and Manager is apart of this water selling because it have been reported to them.”
