Shericka Jackson Wins 100m, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce 2nd, Sha’Carri Places 5th At The Diamond League – Watch Race

World 200m Champion Shericka Jackson blasted from the blocks to win the women’s 100m track and field event at the Memorial Van Damme Meet, the penultimate Diamond League series of the season on Friday.
The track event which started at 1:45 p.m. JA time saw where Jackson who was placed in lane #3, dominated her competitors to clock a time of 10.73 seconds. In second place, fellow Jamaican and five-time Olympic champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who announced a few days ago that she is nursing a hamstring injury finished in a time of 10.74 seconds. Marie-Josee Ta Lou, an Ivorian sprinter finished in 3rd in a time of 10.78 seconds.
Finishing in 5th place was American sprint rival, Sha’Carri Richardson in 10.93 seconds. She was also defeated by her fellow teammate, Aleia Hobbs who clocked 10.91 seconds to take 4th place.
On Tuesday, Richardson won the women’s 100m final (11.29s) on a wet track at the Spitzen Leichtathletikcame against Jamaican sprinter, Elaine Thompson-Herah (11.30s) who has been suffering an Achilles injury.
