Elaine Thompson-Herah Withdraws From Diamond League Event In Birmingham

Saturday is set to be the date for the Birmingham leg of the Diamond League and surprisingly five-time
Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah opted to withdraw from the event.
The information was initially released by Andi Sports Management, the agent behind the female sprinter. According to them, Thompson-Herah chose not to compete after she experienced a bit of discomfort during training which has caused her to be exercising caution but will be back competing in her scheduled events for 2022 soon.
The lineup for the 100 metres in Birmingham is set to have sprinters such as her teammate Shericka Jackson, Dina-Asher Smith from Great Britain, Ajla Del Ponte and Daryll Neita from Switzerland along with Cambrea Sturgis, Gabrielle Thomas, and Destiny Smith-Barnett from the United States of America.
