Camperdown High School Female Student Found With Firearm In Bag

A firearm was found in the school bag of a 15-year-old female Camperdown High School student on Monday, June 6, when officers from the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force (JAGTF) conducted a routine spot check.
According to reports, at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers stopped a Toyota Wish motor vehicle at the intersection of Windward Road and Mountain View Avenue. Upon stopping, a man who was inside fled, while the student and the driver complied.
A 9-milli-meter pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds was subsequently found in the bag of the teenager.
Both accused were taken into custody and police are investigating the matter.
