Jamaican Actress Kimberly Patterson Building on 'King of the Dancehall' success

Rapper, actor, comedian, director, screenwriter, film producer, entrepreneur, record producer, radio and television personality — Nick Cannon does it all. His newest endeavor is the film King of the Dancehall, which is now available exclusively through YouTube Red on Russell Simmons’s All Def Digital channel. The film’s female lead was played by local make-up artist Kimberly Patterson. She played Maya, Cannon’s love interest. Patterson was selected to be part of the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Actor’s Programme, which granted the actress access, insight, and advice from some of Hollywood’s top casting directors during the festival. The aspiring actress who has been cast in the local miniseries Losing Patience still manages to remain present on the production scene and keep up with her makeup career. Canadian Sprinter Andre De Grasse Out Of IAAF World Championship In London

De Grasse hopes of toppling Usain Bolt at this weekend’s IAAF World Championship in London has crashed this after the Canadian pulled out of the men’s 100 metres event yesterday. During a training session on Monday, de Grasse pulled up with what he described as “a grab” in his right hamstring. Andre received an ultrasound scan which was diagnosed as a grade one hamstring strain. Dainalyn Swaby Crowned Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2017

Dainalyn Swaby was crowned the new Festival Queen on Tuesday night at the National Arena. Swaby, who represented the parish of St. Elizabeth, walked away with the title as well as more than $1 million in cash and prizes. She also received several sectional prizes including Most Culturally Aware and Best Talent. With the win, Swaby made history, becoming the first representative from St. Elizabeth to earn the national title. Second place went to St. Ann’s Naresha Jackson and Ava-Gail Lindsay of St. Mary was placed third.

US Ranks Jamaica As The 3rd Most Dangerous Place For Women To Travel

A recent study conducted by the U.S. State Department has found Jamaica to be third “Most Dangerous Places For Women Travelers” on a list of top ten countries. According to Julia Pond, Trip.com’s editorial director, “Popular resorts are fairly safe but traveling beyond those borders will mean dealing with unwanted attention,” says Pond. The study highlights Kingston and Montego Bay as the two most violent place in Jamaica. “Indeed, the State Department warns that violent crime is a serious problem throughout Jamaica, particularly in Kingston and Montego Bay. And even if you’re staying at a seemingly safe resort, beware.” said Pond According to the State Department, “the U.S. Embassy received more than a dozen reports of sexual assaults against American visitors to Jamaica in a 12-month period. "Cash Me Outside" Girl Danielle Bregoli Sentenced To 5 Years Probation For Marijuana & Grand Theft Charges

The “Cash Me Outside” girl will NOT be going to jail after pleading guilty to multiple charges last month … ’cause the kid struck a plea deal and got probation instead. According to TMZ Danielle Bregoli, who’s 14, was sentenced to 5 years probation Tuesday in Delray Beach, FL after pleading guilty to 4 charges back in June — including 2 counts of grand theft, possession of marijuana, and filing a false police report. Bregoli’s charges predate her 2016 appearance on Dr. Phil, which catapulted her to fame after her infamous catchphrase ‘Cash me ousside, how bow dah’ soon went viral.
